Most people have never questioned their water beyond basic purity. Scientists discovered that ordinary water — even the cleanest spring water — contains a heavier isotope of hydrogen called deuterium at concentrations between 145 and 155 parts per million. That number has been measured, published, and consistently reproduced across independent labs for decades.
Scientific interest in deuterium depletion spans several decades. Researchers have studied how deuterium concentrations in water relate to cellular processes and biological activity. The literature is precise, measurable, and independently reproducible. Mdrn-Life is built on that body of work — not around it.
After reviewing the research, 5 ppm was identified as the production target — one of the lowest deuterium concentrations produced at commercial scale. Most DDW producers operate at 25 to 125 ppm. We chose 5 ppm as our benchmark, then set out to independently verify it.
We partnered with Hydroisotop GmbH and the USGS Reston Stable Isotope Lab to confirm our 5 ppm concentration using Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry. Not a one-time certification — batch-specific transparency. If we cannot verify it, it does not ship.
