Why Independent Lab Testing Matters
Deuterium concentration cannot be verified by taste, smell, or appearance. The only reliable way to confirm that a water product truly contains the deuterium level it claims is through precise isotope-ratio mass spectrometry performed by a qualified laboratory. We work with Hydroisotop GmbH (Schweitenkirchen, Germany), one of the world’s leading laboratories for stable isotope analysis, as well as the USGS Reston Stable Isotope Laboratory to provide independent verification of our product.
How to Read the Results
Deuterium content is measured as a ratio relative to a standard reference water called VSMOW (Vienna Standard Mean Ocean Water), which contains approximately 155.76 ppm deuterium. The result is expressed as %₀ vs. VSMOW — a negative value indicates that the sample contains less deuterium than the reference standard. Our target specification is 5 ppm deuterium, which represents a reduction of approximately 94–97% compared to standard water.
